Spanish word for table this is also a
type of land for Mesa and geographic
terms is a table and an elevated area
with a flat top and very steep sites
particularly steep cliffs it resembles a
butte but much larger mesas are
commonplace in dry desert environments
especially in the western United States
of America
the formation of mesas shows erosion
combining with tectonics erosion of
horizontally layered rocks and the
tectonic uplift certain rock types are
more resistant to weathering and erosion
and other types this type of erosion
differential erosion means that you have
more resistant rocks which will be
higher than the surrounding areas more
resistant rock layers or more likely to
form cliffs while the less resistant
rock layers will have
