meters from the long side each marker is
identified by a letter the centreline
letters are not marked but a shown here
with distances the four that is at the
ends of the long side are called the
quarter markers the arena can be divided
long ways with three parallel lines five
meters apart the center line is 10
meters from the long side and joins a
and C the quarter line is aligned five
meters from the long side closest to the
rider shown here three quarter line is
designed five meters in from the long
side serviced from the rider shown here
the quarter and three quarter lines are
always referenced from the riders
position on the long side
the 10

to the centerline the turn outside while
riding on the large arena tracks refers
to the side closest to the arena edge
the turn inside while riding on a circle
refers to the side closest to the center
of the circle to turn outside while
riding on a circle refers to the side
serviced from the center of the circle
left rein refers to the direction the
riders heading around the arena or
circle to the left right rein refers to
the direction the rider is heading
around the arena or circle to the right
to fire the circle means the rider would
automatically write a 20 meter circle
which is the full width of the arena
unless instructed to ride a smaller
circle
tangent points are the four points that
represent the quarters of a circle the
writer visualizes these to help write an
accurate circle run following the arena
track or to go large means the rider
would finish the school figure and ride
around the edge of the arena
to change the
rain means a rider changes directions
eg changing from left to right rain
