Mesas, And How They Form.

hello YouTube welcome to another video

by the jewel scholar Mesa it is the

Spanish word for table this is also a

type of land for Mesa and geographic

terms is a table and an elevated area

with a flat top and very steep sites

particularly steep cliffs it resembles a

butte but much larger mesas are

commonplace in dry desert environments

especially in the western United States

of America

the formation of mesas shows erosion

combining with tectonics erosion of

horizontally layered rocks and the

tectonic uplift certain rock types are

more resistant to weathering and erosion

and other types this type of erosion

differential erosion means that you have

more resistant rocks which will be

higher than the surrounding areas more

resistant rock layers or more likely to

form cliffs while the less resistant

rock layers will have

gentle slopes if you liked this video be
